Where have all the forecast hurricanes for 2024 gone? Or better yet, why have they failed to materialize the way the experts predicted ahead of the season. We have warm water, we have a relative lack of shear to chop down the storms, and we have plenty of atmospheric moisture, but we don't have any significant storm activity. While this article doesn't have all the answers, I thought it was worth the share as it is certainly interesting to try and understand what conditions might look like going forward in a warmer world.

After spending part of this week with Jim Cantore of The Weather Channel and listen to his thoughts on what's still to come in 2024, I think everyone needs to keep it top of mind that we still have a long way to go in this year's hurricane season. Even if the the forecasts that were based a bit to heavily on the water temps have not lived up to their billing, there is still ample opportunity for this thing to ramp up.

I like to occasionally go back and revisit articles and trainings that I felt inspired or moved by when I originally interacted with them. This led me over the past couple of weeks back to the topic of personal branding and why it matters to me and to my organization. A quick Google search of "Why Does Personal Branding Matter" will bring you to thought provoking returns including the fact that personal branding can help define who you are, promote your message, and allow you to stand out from the crowd." All of those things seem of value in my world and in my professional journey. Personal branding allows us to:- Show our strengths and to demonstrate yourself as a trustworthy source of knowledge and experience.- Stand out from the crowd and attract attention from employers, customers, and clients.- Build a network of strong professional relationships.- Be visible so you can connect the work with who you are as a person.Are you doing what it takes to stand out from the crowd and create the ideal personal brand? I suspect the answer for you is similar to my own, which is that we are making strides but there is always more we could and should be doing in this area. I'd love to hear stories of what you are doing to build your own brand.
