In New York City, eleven-year-old movie buff Danny Madigan skips school to see Jack Slater III, the third installment of his favorite action film series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. When the projector shifts out of focus, Danny runs upstairs to alert Nick, the friendly old theater manager. Nick reveals he has received a print of the newest Jack Slater feature, and invites Danny to sit in on a midnight test screening before its official release. Although Danny’s widowed mother scolds him for missing class, Danny sneaks out again while she is working the night shift. At the theater, Nick presents the boy with a magical golden ticket given to him in his youth by illusionist Harry Houdini. Unknown to Danny, the ticket begins to glow and transports him into the world of the film, where he awakens in the backseat of Jack Slater’s convertible during a high-speed car chase. Although startled by the boy’s appearance, Slater evades his pur
